Petro Marine Services/Haines terminal is located in the
Chilkat Valley, 90 miles from Juneau. The community has a
population of 2,300, and the main industries are commercial fishing,
tourism and government. More than 175,000 tourists arrive in the
summer by ferry, car, recreational vehicle, plane and cruise ship.
The Haines Highway links the community to the Alaska Highway and the
lower 48.
